Week 12 Line-up

Here you go….

  • Iowa State at Kansas (-26)
  • Louisville (+6.5) at South Florida
  • Oklahoma at Texas Tech (+9)
  • Wildcard: Duke at Norte Dame (-5)
  • Wildcard: Ohio St at Michigan (+4)

KU  Iowa St at KU
Iowa St. is riding a wave of momentum coming off of their second straight win…though last week’s bizarre win over CU is suspect. Prior to, the Clones gave OU a run for their money and beat a bowl eligible Iowa team. They are one of the conference’s best teams at time-of-possession (for what that’s worth), the fourth least penalized (KU being the least penalized in the country), have a solid ground game, and one of the best senior QB/Receiver combos KU will face all season.

Typically a “body of work” such as this that would steer me away from giving up 26. But who am I to bet against the streak on Senior Day. This is as uncomfortable a KU line  that I’ve gone with this year…but I am sticking with Hawks. Look for BMac, one of the best untold stories on this KU team, to get to 1000 yards today on his final game at Memorial Stadium.

TexasLousiville at South Florida
Classic case of a one time homecoming queen, caught up in all the new-found attention, becomes the class whore by semester’s end. Now am I referring to the ESPN the Mag cover boys or the nations first #2 cursed team in SFla.. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm….Given I am in a time crunch, South Florida’s stock continues to free-fall, while the CARD(inal) has leveled off. Putting my money on the Cards.

TechOU at Tech
Best game of the day. While everyone is talking about the $10K Leach shelled out this week the troops in Norman were watching the Ducks unravel. No question now, most are looking for the Sooners win out and play for the national championship. But line of thinking comes crashing down today and Tech not only covers, they upset the Sooners at home. Get your guns up and your lean on…..

Duke at ND The golden domers can’t pin this poor performance on academic standards. Going with Duke to cover here.

Ohio St at MichiganHart and Henney play hurt and salvage the season. Michigan covers and wins.

No line yet on OSU/Michigan… Probably waiting on Hennes’ injury status…

If I had to guess, it will probably be close to OSU (-4.5)

I read Ohio St -4 on a blog but have not found a source to back it up. Any thoughts….

They way it looks on your original post is that Michigan is giving up 4 not OSU – but I havn’t seen a line either.

    Iowa State at Kansas (-26)
KU no longer needs to run up scores to impress voters… They win out, they are in the big game… It’s that simple… Coming off a big roadie with the Mizzou game next week and this is the ultimate sandwich game… Iowa State on the road though is about as solid as TT ‘s running game… Give me the Jayhawks at home…

    Louisville (+6.5) at South Florida
I think the Cards shot their wad last week in taking WVU to the wire… They never play well in Tampa… Gotta take the Bulls here…

    Oklahoma at Texas Tech (+9)
I’ll take TT all day here… Hell, they may win it straight up…

Wildcard: Duke at Norte Dame (-5)
Domers take out a season of frustrations on the Dookies… Irish in a romp…

Wildcard: Ohio St at Michigan (+4)
Lloyd Carrs’ last game at home… Hell if that doesn’t fire up the Michigan faithful, nothing will… The Wolverines laid an egg last week in a meaningless game vs Wisconsin… Regardless of that games’ outcome, Mich knew they were going to the Rose Bowl with a win vs OSU… Both teams are blah, so I’ll take the seniors Henne and Hart playing their last game in the Big House… Michigan getting points at home is the play…

    Iowa State at Kansas (-26)
Taking KU by a little more than 26. Iowa St. is terrible on the road.
    Louisville (+6.5) at South Florida
The Bulls ALWAYS play Lu Vulle tough in Florida. Taking S. Florida here.
    Oklahoma at Texas Tech (+9)
Wierd things always happen on the south plains during night games. Tech covers.
Wildcard: Duke at Norte Dame (-5)
    The Irish in a rout.
Wildcard: Ohio St at Michigan (+4)
Ohio State rebounds and wins by more than 4.

    Iowa State at Kansas (-26)
This is a tough call, but even with those rare wins the Cyclones aren’t putting up many points. I’ve gotta ride the wave with the Hawks to cover.

    Louisville (+6.5) at South Florida
I have no faith left in the Cards this year, I’ll take the Bulls and their crazy Mohawks to cover.

    Oklahoma at Texas Tech (+9)
Different take on this game, I’ll pick OU to cover.

Wildcard: Duke at Norte Dame (-5)
The Irish come back this week and get it done against the blue devils. ND covers.

Wildcard: Ohio St at Michigan (+4)
Michigan comes back and gets it done.

I’m saddened that this is the last Red Raider regular season game. Of course, the Red Raiders have once again positioned themselves into the seemingly predestined annual fate of qualifying for a Donkey-Punch.com- like caliber bowl. But’ that’s okay, a Big12 record 16 consecutive bowl appearances is better than a sharp stick in the eye.

As for the FBB race, I’ve strategically positioned myself just behind the leader so I can pass said leader with the ever so croud pleasing final kick down the home-stretch to take in the victory by out leaning my opponents at the tape. But now, I’m thinking I’ll just go ahead and pass em so I can cruise into the finish line with several crowd loving waves.

    * Iowa State at Kansas (-26)
I too respect how Iowa State is playing at this point in the season. They’ve got a great coach who really deserves a lot of credit for keeping his team together and making them competitive. But I just can’t go against the flying Manginos and their Vegas stretch. Rock Chalk BCS. KUuuuuu
    * Louisville (+6.5) at South Florida
ROberto – mad love for the Cards. Last time I bet against them citing poor moral, they proved me wrong. I’ll take the Cards in a close one.
    * Oklahoma at Texas Tech (+9)
After Mike Leach received his record setting fine, when asked if he’d like to comment about it he said, and I paraphrase, “Well, we set a lot of records around here, might as well stay the course.” At Texas Tech, all we do is set records. I’ve already mentioned the bowl appearances and I’m sure everyone knows about our leading the nation in passing yards collectively for the past five years. D.Y.K? Texas Tech’s field goal kicker has the record for most consecutive extra points without a miss? and of course we have the winningest coach in NCAA hoops history. However, as much as I appreciate the love from my fellow FBB constituents, I taking OU to cover.
    * Wildcard: Duke at Norte Dame (-5)
To nat’l powerhouses face off in a thriller. The Irish hypocrisy can only go on for so long and they can’t let a hoops powerhouse pity them on the grid iron. Irish will cover.
    * Wildcard: Ohio St at Michigan (+4)
Did anyone catch the Ohio St. Michigan HBO Special. Makes you miss college football already. I’m taking Woody’s Buckeyes to cover.

And with the close of the Mich/Ohio St game Blaine closes in on Julie’s lead. Only one point separates these two.
